Thupten LeksheA Training for Mental Health Clinicians

In this training Venerable Thupten Lekshe, (Ivan Milton) a clinical psychologist and Buddhist monk, will give comprehensive tuition on mindfulness meditation from a set of teachings based on traditional Buddhist texts, and on his training and experience using mindfulness in various mental health programs. The course will involve a maximum of 20 participants, and will include teaching, practice and discussion in a seminar format. This training provides a unique opportunity for in-depth study of the clinical uses of mindfulness, and for learning new and practical skills for use in everyday life.

This training is eligible for 23 hours of Professional Development (for Psychologists this is a Level 2 Generalist PD activity--two generalist points per hour can be claimed.)

About Thupten Lekshe

Thupten Lekshe has wide ranging experience in a variety of mental health and educational settings. He was founding manager of the DBT style program at Spectrum (the Victorian Personality Disorder Service) and continues to provide DBT supervision and training. He has trained with one of the founders of MBCT in New York, and has collaborated on an Australian adaptation of this program, now under a clinical trial at Monash University. Thupten Lekshe has been a student of Tibetan Buddhism for many years and was ordained as a monk in 2000.
