Blessings
Venerable Rinchen offers a wide range of blessings for the Cairns community.

Funerals
Venerable Rinchen is available to facilitate funeral services
She has many years of experience helping families to create a beautiful and meaningful celebration of life for their loved ones.
She says “The most important thing is to make it a true celebration of their life by including all the things that the deceased would have appreciated.
A meaningful ceremony can bring a lot of comfort to those who are grieving. It is also an opportunity to repay the kindness of our loved one by creating a beautiful celebration of their life.
Venerable Rinchen is guided by the family’s wishes regarding the service, she is inclusive of all traditions and faiths. A Buddhist blessing for the deceased is offered if appropriate for the family but optional according to their faith.
Blessing at the time of death
for a person preparing for death or at the time of passing.
Venerable Rinchen is also available to come and give a blessing for a person preparing for death or at the time of passing.
She has many years experience providing this service in the community, both in hospitals and in the home.
Her work as a volunteer in the palliative care field has allowed her to be there to offer support and comfort for both the dying and their loved ones. Her many years of experience at the bedside of those dying and the Buddhist teachings on death, have given her a deeper insight that allows her be able to offer guidance and support during this most profound time for families.
Venerable Rinchen offers this to both Buddhist and Non Buddhist, her main priority during this time is to create a peaceful and loving environment for the person dying and their family.
Baby Blessings
This is a wonderful way to welcome and bless a new life, with love compassion and joy.
The ceremony includes prayers, chanting and sprinkling of petals and rice as a blessing to celebrate this new life.
Family and friends are also invited up to offer their own blessings for the baby at the end of the ceremony.
Venerable Rinchen creates a loving, joyous atmosphere for families to celebrate their new arrival.
The ceremony includes blessing the baby’s physical elements, earth, water, fire and air and of course, most importantly their mind. Wishing for health, happiness and most importantly compassion and kindness to flow throughout their lives.
House/Business Blessing
This usually requires the setting up of a shrine complete with offerings
Ven Rinchen will explain the process and materials required for the Ritual beforehand. The prayers and rituals are offered to dispel obstacles and create harmony and merit for families and business owners.
The blessing ceremony (puja) is called the Four Mandala Green Tara Practice. This practice involves setting up a special shrine with offerings. It includes chanting and making offerings to Tara to remove obstacles and bring blessings to all who enter the house/business, creating harmony and peace for all.
Weddings
Venerable Rinchen is unable to conduct wedding services
However she is able to perform a blessing for the couple after the official ceremony, to bless their union.
The blessing is offered after the legal signing of the marriage certificate. It involves some chanting, offering of Khatas (special silk blessing scarfs). After the blessing everyone is invited to bless the happy couple with petals. A Celebration of joy and new beginnings.
