Chenrezig Practice
Wednesday morning at 9.30am
We do the practice of Chenrezig – Avolokiteshvara, every Wednesday morning at 9.30am and dedicate it to those who are sick, suffering and recently deceased.
We have a healing list with names of people in the community who are in need of prayers and we also have a list for those who have died. We offer prayers and mantras on their behalf and many have found this very helpful in both the healing and grieving process. It is a simple, beautiful, yet quite profound practice
It is preferable if people have had the transmission of the Mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum”.
For those who are new and don’t have the transmission to this practice, we recommend that you sit in and listen for the first time, as a meditation practice.
The practice takes around 45 minutes and is chanted mainly in english except for some Sanskrit verses.

Green Tara (Puja) Ritual
Sunday mornings at 7.30am
Green Tara Ritual is done in most Tibetan Monasteries daily to dispel obstacles and to help all Dharma activities.
It is a lively, active practice involving lots of chanting and musical instruments, including the drum, bells, cymbals and conch. Green Tara is the swift-action Goddess who comes quickly when called, to help relieve the suffering of all sentient beings.
We do the practice as a group every Sunday at 7.30am and as it doesn’t require an initiation to participate, everyone is welcome to attend.
It takes around and hour and half and for those who are not familiar with this kind of practice it might be best to sit and listen for the first time as it can be a little difficult to follow.
The initiation for Green Tara was given by His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche when he blessed our centre in 2006 and again by His Holiness Sakya Trizin in 2009 when he gave the 21 Tara Empowerment as part of his visit to Cairns. There are many legends and stories of Green Tara.

Vajrasattva – for Initiates only
2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 9am
Vajrasattva Practice is an extremely powerful purification meditation.
To be able to practice it correctly, you need to receive the teachings and transmission of the mantra from a qualified Teacher. This is to prevent any misunderstanding or incorrect view of the practice.
Vajrasattva (rDo-rje sems-dpa’) practice is a tantric meditation done for the purification of negative (action) karma.
As a Mahayana practice, it is undertaken with bodhichitta motivation to purify all our karma misdeeds in order to reach enlightenment as quickly as possible so that we are best able to help all sentient beings.

Medicine Buddha Practice
2nd & 4th Sunday of the month at 9.30am
Medicine Buddha Practice is a healing practice treasured by many in the Mahayana Buddhist tradition.
It is a powerful healing practice and mantra recitation that can be used for oneself or dedicated to others.
When we practice Medicine Buddha meditation, we do not do so to replace mainstream medical treatment, but to complement it.
The practice purifies and removes the underlying, karmic causes of disease and cultivates the causes for holistic well-being.
The holistic healing of mind and body was an important focus of Medicine Buddha’s vows:
