Medicine Buddha is regarded as the patron deity of healing and medicine. His sutra, is said to contain 84,000 verses on the subject of medicine and health. Medicine Buddha is depicted as the color of lapis lazuli blue, which symbolizes the power to dispel disease. He is seated on a lotus flower, which represents purity and wisdom.
Medicine Buddha represents the healing power of wisdom and compassion to dispel all disease. His mantra is said to have the power to cure all diseases and to bring peace, harmony and wellbeing to those who practice with faith.
Khenpo la will give a detailed explanation Medicine Buddha’s history, practice and mantra during this weekend. He will show how this practice can help bring one’s mind into a positive state and allow healing to take place in both body and mind. He will explain the mantra and give a brief practice that can be done daily for one’s own and others well being and happiness.
